caption This cyanobacterium is common in the plankton of Lake Kinneret throughout the year. The image shows a cell in division and and the typical cell envelopes. Usually 2-8 cells in a colony, with clearly delimited mucilaginous envelopes surrounding the individual cells following its contour, and the entire colony. Cell diameter: 8-11 um.
