Desmid with unicellar organization. This depth of focus picture shows the surface of dimpled cell , structure of axial and a trace of pyrenoids. Based on 8 pictures depth of focus was generated using manually stacking technique. Sample from sphagnum pond Dosenmoor near Neumuenster (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany). Images were taken using Zeiss Universal with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.
