Diplosigopsis



caption Diplosigopsis is a tiny Choanoflagellate with a lorica which is mounted without stalk on the substratum. Gradually the lorica becomes opaque due to stocked iron or manganese compounds. The multi layer image shows the vesicular nucleus. This multi layer image was built up using several frames with a manual stacking technique. The scale bar indicates 5 µm. The specimen was gathered in the wetlands of Oderbruch (Oder valley 100 km north east of Berlin). Epibiont on a slide glass which was placed in water for 3 days. Images were taken using Zeiss Universal with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.
