New image collection - NOSOAT floating summer school - This collection collates all photodocumentation of the phytoplankton assessments during a training cruise from Bremerhaven to Capetown on the research icebreaker RV Polarstern. The diversity of Plankton we encountered was truly amazing.

Two new books on phytoplankton and zooplankton have been published in the series of 'Handbooks on marine flora and fauna'
They are: 'Coastal phytoplankton: A photoguide to Northern European Seas' and the 2. edition of 'Zooplankton: A photoguide to European Seas'

New tool - All observations -
The \'All observations\' tool is now available to all users and contributors. This tools vizualises on a map all locations for which PLANKTON*NET contains data. Clicking on the location markers produces a list of all observations for that location.

17 June 2009 - Extended search functionality -
We have extended the search functionality of PLANKTON*NET. As usual you can use the Alphabetical browse buttons to locate particular taxon records. The search box however, you can now use for more general text searches. Entering ยดFormalin` for instance will selectively retrieve records containing information about this fixation method.
18 March 2009 - New diatom image set - A new set with micrographs of diatom frustules has been created.
