Chaetoceros compressus



caption This species forms straight and often long chains. Width and shape of constrictions are very variable, from hexagonal to slit like. This species has two distinct types of inner setae. The setae are mostly very thin but some setae are short and thickened and undulating with small spines and are pointing towards the end of the chain.
