Basionym : Monallantus salina, emended by Hibberd in 1981. Spherical, ellipsoid or cylindrical eustigmatophyte (length 3-4 µm, width 1.5-1.7 µm), without chlorophyll b, with cell wall. Observed in brackish waters.
