Basionym : Pedinella tricostata, emended by Sekiguchi, Kawachi, Nakayama & Inouye in 2003. Small dictyochophyceae (length 4-5.5 µm) with three golden-brown chloroplasts only, with axopodia protruding anteriorly and one posterior flagellum of 10-12 µm.
