Pinguiophyceae (length 10 µm) epiphytic, with a thick wall (lorica) and several tubular outgrowths, one chloroplast and two chrysolaminaran vacuoles. Known as a chrysophyte and added to the pinguiophyceae by Kawachi et al. in 2002.
