2004 Florenciella parvula Eikrem Picoplankton dictyochophyceae (length 3–6 µm) with two apically inserted flagella, a long flagellum (11–16 µm) with long tubular hairs without partitions and a short flagellum (1–3 µm) acronematic, smooth with terminal extension up to twice the length of the flagellum proper. Fibrous roots connect basal bodies. Two chloroplasts, with immersed pyrenoids that may be traversed by tubules.
