Chain of the centric diatom Skeletonema tropicum. The identification was made by light microscopy only, on the basis of there being many chloroplasts per cell and the fact that each intercalary strutted process is connected to one strutted process on the neigbouring valve, with the exception of one process which is connected to two processes on the neighbouring valve.
