Polysiphonia
caption This biocoenosis was gathered in the Kieler Förde (Baltic Sea). It consists of the red alga Polysiphonia spec., where numerous cells of Coscinodiscus spec. are attached by bulky sheets of mucilage.

The image was built up using several photomicrographic frames with manual stacking technique. Images were taken using Zeiss STEMI SV6 with MFT camera Olympus OM-D E-M5 II.
